When Inventory is the Key: ALMETCO in the Aluminum Boom

In his article “Aluminum Outlook: In the Pink” for Metal Center News, Dan Markham interviewed industry leaders about one of the most dynamic periods for aluminum in decades. Our president, Orlando Ferrán, shared a simple truth:
“The secret to selling aluminum is having it.”
With a mix of anti-dumping tariffs, logistical disruptions, and surging demand, the market shifted from being buyer-driven to seller-driven. Ferrán summed it up:
“I’ve been in this business for 38 years, and I’d have to look far back to see a market like this.”
While many struggled to secure supply, ALMETCO had already increased inventory in response to these shifts. Our hybrid model—serving both industrial and retail customers—allowed us to meet market needs when others could not. This reinforced our mission: to be a reliable supplier at all times, especially when it matters most.
The interview also explores how broader trends continue to drive aluminum consumption, including:
- Automotive electrification.
- Sustainable packaging.
- Growth in recreational markets such as RVs.
